چکیده

Aim: To determine the phytochemical composition and antimicrobial properties of tamarind extracts on Fusarium oxysporium pathogen Azadirachta indica diseased leaves. Study Design: Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Methodology: The constituents in ordinary, warm hot water as well Methanolic pulp were screened. Zone Inhibition (ZOI) diameter (mm), Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) against determined. Data analyzed using ANOVA at P = .05. Results: fruit extract was obtained Soxhlet extraction method. total number compounds identified methanol 10. major phytoconstituents present Tamarindus L Tannins, saponins, flavonoids, carbohydrates, reducing sugar, Glycosides, Alkaloides proteins. Test for Anthraquinones phytosterols negative which indicates that they are absent methanolic Tamarind pulp. Antimicrobial activity carried out Identified from indica, infected leaves through morphological evidence. results represented different concentrations 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% positive control referred treatments T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, maximum zone inhibition observed Positive Control i.e., T5 (15.00mm) is more than T4 concentration crude (13.66mm) fallowed by (12.00mm) 75% (8.00mm) 50% minimum 25% T1(5.6mm). Due to presence phytochemicals this may be resulted. 5.00mm dose 15.00mm dose.

Isolation and characterization of tamarind seed (Tamarindus indica L.) polysaccharide.

The alcohol-insoluble fraction from the water extract of tamarind seed meal, constituting 60 to 65 per cent of the husked kernel, has been described as a rich source of pectin (l-3). Although it forms a firm jelly in the presence of appropriate amounts of sugar and acid (1,4) and has been suggested for commercial use as a substitute for pectin (5), it has been shown in preliminary communication...
